Why Illinois?

I choose Illinois because of the amazing engineering program. As someone who resides in Illinois, going to UIUC was a no brainer for me. It was close to home, had great academics, and stellar student involvement.

What has been your best experience at Illinois?

My best experience at Illinois has definitely been meeting new people from all different majors and parts of the world. It makes the very large school feel homey and welcoming.

Favorite part about being an engineering student?

The student involvement and the countless research opportunities offered.

Why did you join EA?

I personally really enjoy teaching others, especially kids, because sharing my own knowledge with others has always been very gratifying.

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?

Go for it! It may not be for everyone but don't knock it till you try it. The STEM field is very vast so not liking a specific topic does not mean you will not like all of the them. Don't go in with the mindset that STEM is only for the smartest of the smart, you will succeed if you put in the work.

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?

I plan on going into industry by either doing data science or software engineering and then eventually going to business school to get my MBA.
