Bioengineering
Class of 2020

Hometown: Barrington, IL

Research/Work Experience: None, sadly :(

Other campus activities: I'm also involved with BMES (and, through BMES, the Cattle Chute design team), as well as the A.O.E. Engineering Sorority.

Why did you join EA? I took the 198 Technical Communication class the fall of my freshman year. I really enjoyed it and then decided to join EA.

What’s your favorite part of being an engineering student? Both the people and the prestige. It's a lot of hard work but it's also fun to be able to say, "Oh, yeah, I'm a bioengineering student."

What made you come to the University of Illinois? I came to U of I five summers for GAMES camp so I knew the campus and was in love with the school when I applied.

What has been your best experience at Illinois? So far my best experience has been Engineering Open House. I got to take some girls around the exhibits and tell them about more cool stuff that I've gotten to do.

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree? Be prepared to work hard, and expect to have a lot of fun.

What do you plan on doing after graduation? I hope to be working or doing research after graduation. More specifically, I hope to be working in something focusing on diabetes.
