Why Illinois?

I chose Illinois because they have an intensive engineering course that was quite close to my hometown. I feel that I've learned quite a lot from all the different professors here, and I've made tons of friends both within and outside the Engineering College!

What has been your best experience at Illinois?

My best experience at Illinois has been with Engineering Ambassadors! I've made a lot of friends through the organization, and hanging out with them either within or without EA activities has really helped break up long study periods. I've also been to explore parts of Champaign-Urbana I wouldn't have been able to see normally through EA!

Favorite part about being an engineering student?

As stressful as they are, I've really enjoyed working on building projects for some of my classes. I feel like I've learned more during those projects than I have during some of my more lecture based classes.

Why did you join EA?

Growing up, my parents often did STEM outreach at my elementary school and others across town. It was a lot of fun to see and to participate in. When I entered college, I wanted the opportunity to participate in the same kind of thing. Thus, I joined Engineering Ambassadors. It's been a lot of fun so far

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?

Pursuing a STEM degree is difficult and can be very stressful. Don't be afraid to let yourself take breaks and always make sure to prioritize your health and mental well-being first. I find that the healthier I am, the more I enjoy school and the more productive I end up being!

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?

I'm not sure just yet. I'm primarily considering graduate school, but we'll see where things take me in the future!
