Why Illinois?
Being from Illinois this school had always been one that I kept my eye on, but it was not until I decided to major in engineering that it became my number one choice. To me it seemed like an easy choice since such a world-class institution was so close by.

What has been your best experience at Illinois?
My best experience was doing well in my classes my first semester because I was really worried about my finals and I thought I hadn't done that well but when my grades came back pretty good it made me feel like I had been doing the right things so far.

Favorite part about being an engineering student?
My favorite thing is working with people to solve our homework problems and collaborating and seeing how people of all the different engineering majors think. Its weird how different they all are.

Why did you join EA?
I was very interested in doing engineering outreach and becoming an all around better speaker and communicator, Engineering Ambassadors is very good at both of those things so I felt that it would be a good fit for me.

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?
Start early. There are resources all around to prepare you for a STEM education and I feel like I didn't take advantage of them at the right time. YouTube can really teach you just about anything so try to come in with a strong foundation or else you may find yourself starting behind a lot of other students.

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?
Graduation is really far away but I plan on going into industry and hopefully finding a job that will allow me to get a Graduate degree. Both of my parents have at least one so I know that I can do it.
