Why Illinois?

Besides having a phenomenal mechanical engineering program, UIUC proved to me that it would be able to provide limitless opportunities during my undergraduate experience. It has not disappointed me one bit with how much it has helped me learn and develop into the person I am today.

What has been your best experience at Illinois?

My favorite experience has been transitioning into a mentor that the incoming classes can see as a friend and as a resource. I always enjoy sharing my experiences, good and bad, so that the upcoming generations of engineers can have a little more guidance.

Favorite part about being an engineering student?

For my whole life, I have wanted everything to be perfect. Being an engineering student has helped me realize what a perfect college experience looks like. As long as I am constantly improving as a student, professional, and friend, I wouldn't want it to be any different.

Why did you join EA?

I was confident that EA would allow me to gain a variety of skills in communication, public speaking, and working with others, but I was also appealed to the mission and values that they live by. From the day that I applied, I knew that I was going to become a part of a family unlike any other.

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?

Don't let the days filled with stress or anxiety blind you from what is to come. STEM degrees are challenging in many ways, but the rewards of being able to pursue your passions, help and teach others, and make a positive difference in the world await you.

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?

Once my time at UIUC comes to an end, I plan on going into the industry for either Design or Imagineering. I also want to pursue graduate school after I gain more experiences in the workforce, but I am still drafting that chapter of my story.
