What motivated you to establish and lead a UIUC chapter of EA?

I was inspired by the EA mission and training. It changed my own perspectives on my purpose as an educator and motivated me to help change others in order to shape the future generation.

What is your long-term goal for EA?

I would like us to be the 'go-to' organization for outreach in STEM. I would like for EAs to be recognized for strong communication and leadership as well as outreach.

What is your favorite part about working at Illinois?

Working with the best students.

What has been your best experience at Illinois?

Student nominated awards and having alumni come back or email me - I love my students!

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?

You can do it, no matter what anyone has ever told you. It's all a matter or persistence and stubbornness - you only need to believe in yourself.
