Why Illinois?

I chose Illinois after attending Little Sisters Weekend hosted by Society of Women Engineers. I was genuinely inspired by all of the amazing female engineers I met that weekend. Aside from its top-ranked engineering program, Illinois offers so many professional development opportunities.

What has been your best experience at Illinois?

My best experience at Illinois has been joining the Hoeft Technology & Management Program, which is an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to emphasize business aspects of technology for business and engineering students. This program has enabled me to meet a lot of new people and become a more well-rounded individual. I can't wait to go to China next summer as part of the program!

Favorite part about being an engineering student?

My favorite part of being an engineering student is the versatility of the degree and all of the growth opportunities involved.

Why did you join EA?

I joined EA because I was inspired to pursue a degree in engineering at Introduce A Girl to Engineering Day at Argonne National Laboratory. I would like to pay this back and help inspire young students to pursue engineering as their field of study.

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?

I would tell someone pursuing a STEM degree to stick with it even though it is difficult. It is very rewarding and offers so many opportunities for growth.

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?

I aspire to use my degree to make the world a better place.
