Why Illinois?

I chose Illinois because the Electrical Engineering program here is one of the best in the nation. I also liked how close it is to Chicago which makes going back home relatively easy.

What has been your best experience at Illinois?

My best experience at Illinois are the labs I have taken in the Electrical Engineering department. They are fun and have developed my hands on skills as an Engineer and have definitely prepared me for tackling real world problems.

Favorite part about being an engineering student?

My favorite part about being an engineering student is the process of designing a project and making it work after countless hours of hard work.

Why did you join EA?

I joined EA because I believe more underrepresented communities need to get into STEM and be excited and not intimidated to learn about it.

What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a STEM degree?

Make sure you address any questions you have about certain topics early on. You need a strong background in Math and Science to find success and addressing those early roadblocks can vastly improve your knowledge and confidence in STEM.

What do you plan on doing post-graduation?

I will be working a full-time position for ComEd, tackling the zero-carbon emission goal for the future as well as accommodating the incoming large fleet of electric vehicles that will be consuming energy from the grid.
